New year..
New memories..
New heart-breaks..
New beginnings..
All makes sense, right?
But who would have known, that I'd actually lose this someone.
It should have been expected, but maybe even time had enough of it.
Eve..
I'm in front of a very familiar place, my garden.
My carnations wilted, all colors..
..They died.
She died.
Why do you have to leave?
Why are you gone?
Why can't I save you?
Why didn't you held out for my hand?
Until now, it remains a mystery for me.
Why didn't you reached out for me when I was able to save you?
And until then, it breaks me when I remember that..
That last smile you gave to me.
And as you say the words "Goodbye".. I'm merely mesmerized
How it breaks me, every piece of the memory pains me.
I only stared at the wilted Carnations blankly.
"Just look at the coincidence.." I smiled bitterly.
"Even these flowers you once gave me.. I'm not even able to save them.."
"Hello? Anyone here?" a voice called out.
I was startled, someone is calling my name..
"Who are you?"
"Oh, sorry to intrude in. I'm actually new to this neighborhood. I'm Sky Lance Serenity. Nice to meet you." he smiled while scratching his head.
"Is that so? Nice to meet you too, Sky. I'm Rhaion Milton.Well I'm sorry. Is there something I can help you with?" I asked blankly.
"Um.. it's just that I heard that someone from this neighborhood has passed away. And I'm sorry for your loss. Our neighbors did told me about your bond... W-well here, I have this for you as a gift. Please take good care of me." He handed me a basket of flowering plants.
I reached out to them. "I will, let's take care of each other." I smiled lightly and looked at the basket.
"Lily of The Valley.." I murmured.
"Yes, aren't they lovely? I grew them on my garden back in my country." He smiled.
"They're beautiful.."
"I'm glad you think so. I think you can take care of them as a substitute to those Carnations." he smiled back.
I looked at the pot of Carnations.
Intently..
I put the basket on the table.
And took the pot of Carnations.
And threw it on the trash bin.
"W-why did you throw it with the pot? You can still re-use that." Sky asked with surprise on his face.
"Nah, 'won't use that anymore. Don't worry, I got a better pot for those lilies."
"Oh. Aren't those from her?" He looked down
"Silly, don't worry Sky. I'm just fine, I still have more people around me anyway..."
Though, lies may be spoken. Life will always go on
Be alive or dead. The world won't stop from spinning.
But life will have a happy end,
If you know how to take a step forward.
Sky seems bothered, "I hope I'll be of any help around here. Please don't be shy to ask anything of me."
"No need for such formalities, but really. Thank you. By the way, what to have some tea? I have some Rose tea with me." I winked.
"Oh, that sounds good. Please let me have some!" his eyes glittered.
"Have a sit by the terrace table then. I'll prepare some snacks." I pointed on a direction and left for preparations.
To be honest, I'm not as better as I seem. But I believe that if I don't help myself, I'll have nothing left of me.
Moving on is never easy. To move on won't happen in a blink of an eye.
Your long fingers,
The pain lingers,
The end will come,
The hurt'll be done.
And after all, Lily of The Valley means 'New Beginning'
"Good Bye ...
Eve .."
Sincerely Yours,
Rhaion
